The recipe is based on the original created in the 16th and 17th centuries by sailors and merchants plying the seas of the West Indies, who did not like the taste of traditional rum. "Bumbu" in fact was the name of the blend they made by adding Caribbean fruits and spices to their rums. Faithful to these legendary origins, Bumbu uses in its recipe only natural and native ingredients, the best selection of sugar cane and Barbados water, considered one of the purest in the world. The sugarcane comes directly from sustainable crops in 8 countries in the Caribbean and South America: Barbados, Belise, Brazil, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guyana, Honduras. Bumbu is aged for up to 15 years to achieve exceptional balance and smoothness, without sacrificing the depth and complexity that make it one of the best rums in the world.
