Made in Verona area of Italy, Umbriaco is a cheese soaked in wine and covered with grape skins for 2 months. This is a raw milk cheese refined with Amarone Valpolicella wine. With thin crust, Drunk Amarone Traditional Cheese is compact and straw coloured.
It is cured for at least 8 months to give it its strong flavours and aroma of ripe fruits with slight animal notes and spiciness. The cheese is called “drunken” because it is soaked in a great aging Amarone wine. Amarone wine is one of the most valuable Italian red wines distinguished by the intense scent of cherry, walnut and spices, which gives it its robust taste.
